About Evelin González

Evelin González Feliu is a Bioinformatics Engineer and PhD student in Bioengineering at Universidad de O’Higgins. Her research focuses on cancer genomics, human genetics, and precision medicine, with particular interest in how germline variation, structural variants, and genetic ancestry shape tumor biology in admixed Latin American populations.

She works with whole-genome sequencing, variant discovery, and population genomics approaches, and has contributed to projects in breast, lung, colorectal, and gallbladder cancer. Her current work explores breast cancer genomics in Chilean and Latin American populations, integrating short- and long-read sequencing to better resolve complex genomic variation relevant to precision oncology.
